NIT Andhra Pradesh encourages students to work on drone technology

Andhra Pradesh National Institute of Technology strives to produce globally competent basic engineers through quality education, research and innovation and to develop advanced technologies in the fields of technology drones.

For this, the Institute organized a two-day skills development workshop on “Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)” between March 5 and 6, 2022, in collaboration with TiTHAN (Jtechnology Iinnovation Hon Aautonomous NOTnavigation), IIT Hyderabad and OptimusLogic.

Addressing the inaugural event, Prof. CSP Rao, Director of NIT Andhra Pradesh said,

“Drone technology” is growing at a faster pace given recent developments in edge computing and has potential applications in commercial, industrial, military, defense, agriculture, etc.”

“Many institutes and start-ups are working on future research and development, prototyping and design testing. Therefore, it becomes essential for scholars to know the basics of drone design who wish to pursue a career in this field. emerging sector,” Rao added.

The main expected outcomes of this two-day training include:

  • Awareness of current and emerging drone technology for various applications
  • Improve skills and identify opportunities with Drone technology
  • Design, integrate, calibrate and test drone prototype models
  • Troubleshooting in drone technology
  • Drone architecture model by 3D printing
  • Prototype demonstration and hands-on experience

The program was jointly organized by TiTHAN, IIT Hyderabad and OptimusLogic in collaboration with the Department of Electrical Engineering, E-Yantra Club, IEEE Student Branch and Research and Innovation Consultancy and Incubation Center (CRIIC ) from NIT Andhra Pradesh.
