The MicroLED Industry Association was established in 2022 to accelerate the adoption of microLED display technologies, bringing together companies, researchers, and organizations active in microLED and providing a forum to address common technology issues, foster cooperation, and share relevant resources. The association’s mission is to ensure that the microLED display industry speaks with a uniform voice and to promote microLED display solutions. A pioneer in test and measurement for the display industry, Radiant has developed solutions to quantify the output of emissive displays for decades, including the first inspection system for pixel-level measurement of display applications. full-color OLED production test in 2004. Like OLED, microLED quality relies on the constant output of individual light-emitting sub-pixels. Inconsistencies in microLED brightness or color, inaccuracies in wafer-level transfer, and other manufacturing issues can result in displays with a visibly non-uniform or speckled appearance. Radiant’s pixel-level measurement methods allow imaging systems to capture highly accurate luminance and chromaticity values ​​at each emissive sub-pixel. Using proprietary methods (US Patent 9135851; US ​​Patent 10971044), Radiant’s ProMetric® imaging colorimeter and photometer solutions are able to simultaneously measure all of a display’s individual microLED sub-pixels to calculate the deviations between the sub-pixel outputs. This adjusts the output to uniform values ​​across all light states of the display, a process called pixel uniformity correction (PUC) or demura.
